Oak Hill Music Festival celebrates our fifth anniversary season with a special milestone—a Beethoven string quartet! String Quartet No. 9, op. 59 is the third of Beethoven’s Middle Period “Razumovsky” quartets, and exemplifies all the harmonic originality and emotional range of Beethoven at the height of his powers. Rounding out the program are Schumman’s Fantasiestücke for viola and piano, Carl Nielsen’s Serenata in vano, Matthieu Lussier’s Bacchanale, and a scherzo for string quartet by Mendelssohn.
